Women of the Maine Outdoors is pleased to be involved with two great classes coming up this August!

Aug 6 — Women’s Intro to HandgunsHowell’s is pleased to welcome the ladies of the Women of the Maine Outdoors for a four-hour Women’s Only Intro to Handgun program!

Join our all woman instructor team for an introduction to handgun safety, handling, and basic marksmanship in our state-of-the-art indoor range facility in Gray, ME. Together will will begin in the classroom for a safety brief and learn the essential skills to pick up, manipulate and aim a firearm (there is NO live ammunition in the classroom.) This allows us to gain comfort and familiarity with the equipment before we head to the range to shoot them. This is an information rich, fun and empowering program that is ideal for a brand new shooter as well as for the experienced enthusiast. During our mid-class break, we invite you to relax in our Members Lounge for coffee and some lite refreshments while admiring your targets ;-).

Duration: 4 hours
Included: Range time, instruction from our female Staff Instructor team, ammunition, rental firearms, eye & hearing protection, targets, coffee and lite refreshments

August 10 – 13 — Women’s Only Guide School – Held at the Presque Isle Fish & Game club, this class is made just for women to become a Maine Guide. Co-sponsored by Women of the Maine Outdoors. Fins & Furs Adventures will be teaching the course. FMI or to register call 474-5430. Maximum of 20 registrants.

Women’s Day workshop

We are teaming up with Women and our Woods to offer an action-packed workshop for women woodland owners and outdoor enthusiasts! Join us Saturday, October 15 at Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine for engaging, hands-on classes in a variety of forest-based topics. Participation is limited to 50 – so sign up now!
